Turn environmental information into practical direction. We help you interpret carbon and lifecycle data, identify significant impacts and assess options, so your organisation can prioritise action with a clear understanding of the evidence and its limitations.

The Analyse stage is where environmental and ESG data starts to deliver real value. Once impacts have been measured, the next step is understanding what they mean, where the biggest risks and opportunities sit, and which issues should be prioritised. This pillar brings together the services that help clients interpret carbon and environmental data, identify hotspots, assess material issues and connect findings to wider operational and strategic decision-making. It is designed for organisations that need more than raw numbers and want clearer insight into what is driving their environmental performance.
At this stage, we help clients examine emissions sources, product and asset impacts, supply chain pressures and governance priorities to identify where attention should be focused first. This may include analysing lifecycle impacts, reviewing procurement-related emissions, or assessing which environmental issues are most relevant to business performance and stakeholder expectations. Once that level of insight is in place, clients are better positioned to move into the next stage of the journey: Reduce, where analysis is turned into practical action.
Our interpretation is tied to the selected reporting framework and documented limitations. Lifecycle work uses the applicable ISO 14040/14044 framework, while EPD work must address ISO 14025:2026 and the chosen programme’s rules and transition arrangements. An internal analysis is distinct from an independent verification or assurance opinion.
We help clients distinguish between background noise and material environmental issues, so effort is focused on the areas with the greatest strategic and operational relevance.
From operational emissions to supply chain impacts and product lifecycle burdens, analysis reveals where change can have the greatest effect.
We translate technical environmental data into commercially relevant insight that supports governance, planning, investment and stakeholder conversations.
Once priorities are understood, clients are ready to move into Reduce, where insight is turned into practical carbon reduction and operational improvement plans.
Environmental data analysis helps explain where impacts occur, what drives them and which findings need further investigation. Carbon analysis can identify major emissions sources and trends; lifecycle analysis can reveal impacts at different product stages. We consider the quality and boundaries of the underlying data so that priorities reflect the strength of the evidence.
Yes. Critical Path can review existing carbon data, reporting boundaries, calculation methods, emissions factors and assumptions. This can identify gaps, inconsistencies or areas needing better evidence before the information informs reduction planning. A separate full remeasurement is not always necessary; the work should be proportionate to the condition of the inventory and its intended use.
LCA can support comparisons when the studies use appropriate, consistent assumptions and a meaningful common basis. Boundaries, functions, data quality and impact methods affect the conclusions. Public comparative environmental claims may require additional review and specific methodological conditions. We assess suitability before presenting one option as having a lower impact than another.
Sustainable procurement analysis considers environmental and wider sustainability issues in purchasing decisions. It can review supplier information, lifecycle impacts and procurement criteria alongside commercial requirements. Critical Path can help identify priorities and strengthen evaluation methods. A supplier questionnaire or environmental statement alone should not be treated as proof of superior performance.
