The project's design encompasses a basement, ground floor, and an additional floor, housing 150 exquisite rooms and 20 premium villas. This expansive establishment, sprawled over more than 20,000 square meters, offers guests a range of amenities.
From 90 hotel rooms and 13 villas to top-tier facilities like all-day dining venues, pool and rooftop bars, the renowned Talise Spa, and an offsite desert camp, every aspect of this resort has been designed for indulgence. The addition of conference rooms, meeting facilities, and other recreational areas ensures that the resort caters to both leisure seekers and business travellers.
Critical Path, renowned for its expertise in project management, was brought on board by Ghantoot Group to offer unparalleled project control services for the Al Wathba Desert Resort. Their role was comprehensive and pivotal to the project's timely and successful completion.
The project's foundation lay in meticulous planning, and Critical Path excelled here by setting up a detailed baseline schedule, integrating cost and schedule WBS, and ensuring regular status updates. As the project progressed, the importance of tracking and monitoring became paramount. Critical Path liaised with various departments, from engineering and procurement to construction contractors, to provide a holistic overview of the project's progress using Earned Value Management (EVM). They kept a keen eye on performance indicators like the Schedule Performance Index and Cost Performance Index.
Beyond the metrics and planning, Critical Path ensured transparency and regular communication with stakeholders. Day-to-day reporting, as well as comprehensive monthly reports, were presented to management. They also developed a dashboard, further simplifying the process of tracking and decision-making for the project's leadership.
