Sheybarah Hotel is a 73-key hyper-luxury resort located on the uninhabited Sheybarah Island, approximately 45 minutes by boat from the mainland. The island forms part of a highly sensitive and diverse natural environment, characterised by dense mangroves, desert flora, white sand dunes, coral flats, seagrass habitats and pristine coral reefs supporting extensive marine biodiversity.
The project’s objective was to deliver a world-class luxury eco-tourism destination while preserving and enhancing the surrounding natural habitat. The development required careful integration of architectural design, marine logistics, environmental protection measures and infrastructure planning within a remote island context.
As a high-profile hospitality project within a protected marine ecosystem, the scheme demanded structured design programme management, disciplined milestone control and transparent reporting to ensure alignment between environmental objectives, stakeholder expectations and project timelines.
Critical Path was appointed by Killa Design to develop an accurate and maintainable integrated design programme and establish a structured reporting framework to provide programme visibility to both Killa Design and the client.
The scope included development of a comprehensive baseline programme to enable performance measurement and tracking across design stages. Particular focus was placed on coordination between architectural, engineering and environmental workstreams to ensure logical sequencing and milestone alignment.
Critical Path established a structured reporting system, including weekly programme status updates, milestone reporting and detailed review and analysis of critical path activities. This provided enhanced visibility of schedule performance and early identification of potential risks to design progression.
Through disciplined design programme management and structured reporting processes, Critical Path strengthened schedule governance and supported informed decision-making on this environmentally sensitive island development.
